Career Connected Learning Field Trip
Dear Parent or Guardian,
Through a partnership with the High Desert ESD, we have an opportunity to take our 7th and 8th grade students on a field trip. Please read the information at the top of this form, then sign and return the permission slip at the bottom of this form by Wednesday October 1, 2025.
Date: Thursday October 2, 2025
Location: Keith Manufacturing(Madras) and BASX (Redmond)
Tentative Schedule:
Arrive at school and grab breakfast
7:40am Load the bus and head to Keith Manufacturing
10:15-11:30 Tour Keith Manufacturing
Lunch on the bus
12:20-1:20 Visit BASX in Redmond
We will return to North Lake following the Campus Tour arriving in time for students to ride the bus home.
Special Instructions: Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather as you will both indoors and outdoors during the visit. No open toed shoes, no shorts, and you must wear long pants. Sack lunches will be provided for the students.

Due to staffing challenges brought on by sports trips and farming weather:
CV bus routes will be running about 5 minutes late today.
Fort Rock Bus Route will run 10 minutes EARLY.
Silver Lake Bus will be running 20 minutes late.
Old Lake Rd students who ride the Silver Lake route will ride home on a CV bus.
Silver Lake students will ride the Fort Rock bus that will head to Silver Lake after dropping off the Fort Rock students.

Parents,
It’s been an emotional and a little bit scary day here at school. We had a retirement party for Mr. Missel this afternoon in an all school assembly and then had cake afterwards.
The middle school dance got underway in the big gym and K-3rd went to recess in the elementary gym because of the rain. These younger students were in the gym with their teachers when lightning struck a tree on the playground about 50 ft from the gym.
This caused a very loud BOOM and took our phones out of commission for a few minutes and we have had some power flickers. We got the students out of the gym very quickly and back to their classrooms for safety reasons and to help settle them.
Needless to say some of our younger students were frightened by this occurrence and teachers have been soothing their fears but they will no doubt let you know what happened today.
Everyone is safe and accounted for. We will send students home at their regular dismissal time.
