 SSA Summer Programs for K-9

PURPOSE

  1. The purpose of this grant program is to provide high-quality summer programming for students entering grades K-9.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  1. Students must be entering Kindergarten or exiting grade 8 to be eligible for the SSA Summer Program.

 

DATES

June 24 through July 25, 2024

 

LOCATION

North Lake School

Special Education room, 6th grade classroom, HS SS room

 

HOURS

Monday through Thursday

7:00 AM-1:00 PM Staff

8:00 AM-1:00 PM Students

 

GOALS

  1. To provide inquiry-based, hands-on instruction.
  2. To provide opportunities or physical activity and learn about a healthy lifestyle.
  3. To support each student’s social and emotional well-being.

 

STAFF

  1. 5 certified teachers.
  2. 3 trained educational assistants.

 

TRANSPORTATION

A bus will be sent to each of the three communities for pick-up of students at a central stop. (Three buses total.)

 

MEALS

Meals and snacks will be provided at NL School.

Dear Parents,

Summer School is fast approaching, so here is some information you may need:

  • SIGN UPS ARE DUE BY THURSDAY, JUNE 6 AT 4:00 PM! Please call the office at 541-576-2121 to sign up. (This deadline is later than in previous years, and it is the final date. No sign-ups will be taken after June 6 at 4:00 PM. Thank you!)
  • Dates: June 24 through July 25, 2024
    • 8AM-1PM Monday through Thursday (exceptions noted on calendar)
  • Students are expected to attend every day, and attendance will be taken.
  • Students need to bring PE shoes and a backpack. Because we plan to be outside often, please consider sending a hat and sunscreen. A water bottle is also a good idea.
  • Two snacks and a lunch will be served daily.
  • A bus will be sent to each of the three communities for pick-up of students at a central stop. More information will be available soon.
